How long will it take to complete my Web site?

The length of time to complete your Web site depends on your needs. A Web site may be simple or quite complex. It may only take a few days to complete your entire Web site if you choose to include a logo, a few pictures, and basic information about your company. If you are wanting to include numerous pictures and/or descriptions of many products, custom graphics, complex designs, a searchable database, a company directory, price lists, etc., your Web site will take additional hours to design and complete. We generally suggest allowing a month to complete a project from start to finish; however, it may certainly not take that long.

Where can I find information to plan my Web site?

We recommend that you start by searching for some websites for businesses similar to yours. For instance, if you are planning a real estate Web site, always look at some of your competitors. You can be sure that each of your competitors has spent numerous hours planning the company site, so analyzing these sites and utilizing the best concepts will certainly be to your benefit. You cannot copy another company's Web site, but getting a few ideas about what you like or dislike from five or ten well-designed Web sites will give you an excellent place to start.

Do I need my own domain name?

Yes. Eager Web Page Design recommends that you purchase your own domain name (for example, "http://www.yourcompany.com"). Although there are additional charges to have your own domain name, this small investment will help make your Web site more legitimate to individuals who are not familiar with your company or services.  Having your own domain name is basically additional name recognition and advertising for your business.

With your own domain name, you always have the option to move to a new Web hosting service if necessary, and your Web site and e-mail address will remain the same. In fact, Eager Web Page Design has moved this Web site several times, yet we are still located on the Web at "http://www.eagerweb.com" and our e-mail addresses have not changed. You may easily check the availability or purchase a domain name at Network Solutions. If we will be creating a website for your business, we can register the domain name and set the DNS information for you.

What special computer equipment do I need?

None! You can actually have your own Web site without even owning a computer. However, at a minimum, it is best if you have a computer with Internet access from an Internet Service Provider, such as EarthLink. Since Eager Web Page Design will create your Web site and transfer it to a Web server of your choice, you do not need to own any special equipment or software. View a list of recommended products and services that can also help make your business more profitable and efficient.

Keep in mind that you can purchase cellular phones and PDAs that have the capability to receive e-mail.  Although this service is sometimes expensive, it is quite convenient to receive a copy of your e-mail on your cell phone.

Each member of our board of directors wants to receive copies of incoming e-mail? Is this possible?

Yes, there is a feature included with our Web hosting packages that allows you to do this. We can set up an e-mail "alias" at your domain name, such as "managers@[yourdomain.com]". This e-mail address will allow copies of all e-mail to be automatically forwarded to one or more e-mail addresses (your board/managers).

When you send an e-mail message in which you want copies sent to your board of directors or management, you simply carbon copy or blind carbon copy your outgoing e-mail to the new alias described above.  To have copies of the recipient's response sent to everyone on your list, you simply enter your new e-mail alias (as described above) in the "Reply-To" section of your outgoing e-mail.

There are many advanced features included with our Web hosting packages that can help your business. If you have any specific questions about additional possibilities, please let us know.
